PSAB 2010-2013 Strategic Plan
August 17, 2010. PSAB has issued a summary of its Strategic Plan and is seeking comments on its general direction and priorities. Comments, on the form provided, are requested by October 15, 2010.

Adoption of IFRSs by Entities with Rate-regulated Activities
August 4, 2010. The AcSB has issued an Exposure Draft proposing that qualifying entities with rate-regulated activities be permitted to defer the adoption of IFRSs by two years. This would be applicable to rate-regulated government organizations following IFRSs. Comments, on the form provided, are requested by August 31, 2010.

June 4, 2010. The International Public Sector Accounting Board (IPSASB) has issued an Exposure Draft entitled “Service Concession Arrangements: Grantor”. Canadian public sector stakeholders are encouraged to provide their views to IPSASB on these proposals. Comments are requested by June 30, 2010.

Government Transfers
May 19, 2010. The PSAB has issued a third Re-exposure Draft (Re-ED) that proposes changes from the 2009 Re-ED, particularly for capital transfers received. The Re-ED is intended to apply to all levels of government. Comments, on the form provided, are requested by September 15, 2010.

Webinar — The Future of Financial Reporting by Government Not-for-Profit Organizations
April 21, 2010. PSAB is presenting a free webinar on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 12:30-13:30 EDT on the proposals in its Exposure Draft, "Financial Reporting by Government Not-for-Profit Organizations." The webinar will include an overview of what is being proposed and why, as well as the long-term objectives for this sector.
